Beverage Recipes : Ice Cendol




Ice Cendol, or Es Cendol, is one of Indonesian traditional beverages that still loved even now. Ice Cendol had a sweet taste, mix of brown sugar, coconut milk and rice powder with ice makes it more delicious and fresh. It’s really nice to enjoy in the hot weather. The types of ice cendol today are also more varied and more diverse. Here is the manual to make healthy and tasty Ice Cendol.

Ingredients :
200 grams of rice powder
100 grams of sago flour
1 teaspoon of pandanus paste
3 tablespoons of whiting
1 liter of water
250 grams of brown sugar
100 grams of sugar
400 ml of water
600 ml boiled coconut milk
Iced water sufficiently
Ice cubes as needed
A little bit of salt

How to make :
  1. Stir rice powder, sago flour, and the paste with half water (500ml)
  2. Boil the remaining water (500ml) with water whiting and add salt, cook until boiling
  3. Put a solution of flour into boiling water whilst, stirring until thickened.
  4. Prepare cendol mold (can use a sieve that has a large hole), put on a basin that contains ice water.
  5. Pour the cendol dough into the mold, then press-till it comes out the grain lengthwise, drain
  6. Boil brown sugar with water and pandan leaves until the sugar dissolves. Remove and filter, chill.
  7. Put sugar syrup into a serving cup, add cendol, coconut milk and ice cubes.
  8. A delicious and healthy Ice Cendol ready to drink.
